About Greshams
Greshams Sports and Social Club is a totally independent member's club embracing many types of popular sporting and social activities.The Club's origins date back to 1972 when Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance provided the 22 acre site in Tuddenham Road which included a sports dome, bar, dressing rooms, showers, ground's men's quarters and the Club Steward's bungalow.
In later years, AXA inherited the Club when they succeeded GRE. During this time the dome was replaced by a modern large sports hall and other building extensions were completed. From the beginning of 2002 the Club was the subject of a management buy-out and is now in private hands and managed completely independently.
This entails that Greshams is now in the fortunate position to be able to offer its extensive facilities to both private and corporate memberships on reasonable terms. Our sports fields include football pitches, a cricket wicket, a bowls green, three hard tennis courts, netball court, whilst provision can be made for rounders, softball and other field sports. Family fun days and company corporate events can also be considered. Indoor leisure activities include snooker, darts, or merely relaxing in our comfortable Lounge or Sports Bars.

Greshams is also the headquarters of Five Star Catering who provide first class quality meals for the Club, and who specialise in special events both within Greshams and outside locations. Varied menus are always available at the Club with a different "specials" list being provided each month. Greshams can also provide special facilities for social events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate dinners and other events when we transform our sports hall to represent the inside of a fully carpeted marquee, complete with stage, dance floor, tables, chairs, and a separate bar at modest cost. The hall can accommodate up to 200 guests for a formal occasion, and up to 250 for the less formal.
During the summer season we are able to let our grounds for corporate Family Days, Gala Days and similar large functions. Greshams is one of the largest independent Clubs in the Ipswich area and is now a thriving institute in the local community.
It also contains Willow Park Montessori Nursery on site, suitable for young children.
